Charmaine Ennis-Whelan (kasvandus Ramchaine, Inglismaa) kommenteeris kõrvaltvaataja pilku: paljud koerad kaotasid kehva esitluse tõttu.
Special Show for Golden Retrievers (C.A.C.) in Estonia February 14th, 2009 – judges Ans van Leeuwen and Bart van Maren:
After the show, at dinner we asked for the judges’ impressions.
Both judges claimed that they were not too impressed overall, but they were also aware that in this country Goldens are a relatively new breed. They were pleased with their class winners, but they saw quite a few of “ordinary” dogs who have no serious faults but who do not shine with anything. There were some questionable temperaments: e.g Ans said that besides the open class male who attacked his handler, there was also a dog in the champion class who “watched me with an angry glare, but whose owner held him tight. It was a nice dog and I couldn’t really lower the grade because I had no proof, but I didn’t do anything for him.
Champion class was somewhat disappointing, and the dog who won that one I liked so much because of his happy temperament and relaxed feeling – that’s how a Golden should be.”
Bart advised breeders to take a good look around and educate themselves and then buy a good, solid foundation bitch from a high quality kennel with at least 20 years of experience — t”his saves time and money when attempting to go to the top, since the way there starting with a mediocre bitch is very time consuming.” When commenting the winning bitches he said that “the best bitch was very nice, a real showdog – and I am aware that a step further – and it would be too much. The second bitch was also very nice and I think perhaps a more solid foundation in the breeding.”
Charmaine Ennis-Whelan (kennel Ramchaine, UK) admitted that many dogs lost by poor handling. Many handlers were nervous and pulled the dogs by tail, hurting them. Shows should be, however, pleasant experiences both to dogs and their handlers, and happy, well-groomed dogs always draw judges’ attention.
Secondly Charmaine (who is one of the top groomers in the UK) remarked that often dogs suffered by disadvantageous trimming: necks were sometimes trimmed too far below, which made the dogs look unbalanced”; also it is possible to smooth the dog’s upright or shaggy hair for example with a dry-dog-coat.

The Morning Valley , Holland, 13.02.2008 erinäituse kohtunik (isased/dogs):
Mina olen Ans van Leeuwen, olen tõuga tegelenud enam kui 22 aastat of the Morning Valley kasvanduse nime all.
Selleks sai Flamy Fawna of the Hellacious Acres, minu alusemane ja ts(empion. Mõni aasta hiljem tõin omale emase Soomest, kes on mulle väga armas (ta elab tänaseni). Tal oli tugev mõju meie liinidele. Neid kahte liini omavahel sobitades sain imekauni tshempionemase Bliss of the Morning Valley.
Aastate jooksul on mul olnud õnne kasvatada 8 ts(empioni ja 3 juuniortshempioni. Minu omanduses olnud isastest on tuntumad Ch Soneve Marius, Ch Tamsbrook Prince of Thieves ja täna meie juures elav Ch Dream Max An Apple A Day (Nielson). Tema tütar Head over Heels of the Morning Valley on juba üsna edukas, olles saanud 4 serti ja 5 VDH-serti alla kahte aastat.
Ootan põnevusega teie juures hindamist.

———————————————————————————————
My name is Ans van Leeuwen. I have been in the breed for more than 22 years, under the affix of The Morning Valley. I live in the North east of Holland, very close to the German border. My first Golden retriever came in 1986. I started showing him rather successfully and because of that, I was immediately bitten by the bug. I had fallen in live with this wonderful breed and their loving and intelligent natures. Soon the idea was born to buy a good female, with a sound pedigree. CH Flamy Fawna of the Hellacious Acres became my foundation bitch and some years later I imported a bitch from Finland, she is also very dear to me. She had a great influence in our lines and is still alive today.By Combining these two lines together, it has resulted into my beautifull Champion bitch CH.Bliss of the Morning Valley.
Over the years I have been very fortunate to have bred 8 champions and 3 junior champions. Some of the The Males I have owned are CH Soneve Marius, CH.Tamsbrook Prince of Thieves and living with me today is CH.Dream Max An Apple A Day (Nielson). His daughter Head over Heels of the Morning Valley is already doing very well for herself , she has already gained 4 CAC & 5 VDH-CH’s and not even 2 years old.
I am very much looking forward to judging your championship clubshow.
